Before last week I had never heard of Ham-Balls. I was talking to my co-workers about ways to use leftover ham after Easter one of them mentioned a delectable dish someone she knows makes using ham. I went into research mode and learned that these saucy Ham Balls are a popular Easter dish in Nebraska and surrounding states, made of diced ham, sausage, and breadcrumbs, then smothered in a sweet and tangy sauce. I knew immediately how we could put our Stello Foods twist on it. The sauce that resulted, made with our Jalapeño Ketchup, Pineapple Salsa, and The Old Colony Sauce, is something you will have to try for yourself.
You could easily substitute any of our MANY varieties of BBQ sauce, but I HIGHLY recommend you give this condiment shelf busting recipe a try. I would call the flavor profile a midwestern cousin of what we in PA know and love as chipped ham. So while you won't find these meatballs stacked on our sandwiches, you WILL find us trying this recipe again and again!
